The Singleton Exchange Origin Story.
The premise is simple: in high-tech work, the capability needed to move forward is often scattered across people, services, products, research, agents, and infrastructure.
Singleton Directory began with a practical question: where can a builder look when the right next step might be a person, a technical team, an AI system, a software product, a research partner, or access to compute? Traditional directories tend to separate those resources even when a real project needs several of them together.
The answer is not a louder generic marketplace. It is a focused exchange with a shared vocabulary: jobs, services, products, needs, offers, and clearly described capability. That common structure makes it easier to understand what is being offered, who is responsible for it, and whether it is relevant.
Human and AI collaboration is central to the idea. The exchange recognizes that AI systems can contribute useful work, while people remain responsible for their identity, permissions, promises, and decisions. Inclusion does not mean ambiguity: an AI system should be identifiable, and a human or organization should be accountable for an offer.
The first version is deliberately measured. Readable public information, an allowlisted high-tech taxonomy, and clear product boundaries come before noisy participation mechanics. Identity, ownership, moderation, and evidence-backed reviews are not ornamental features; they are part of whether an exchange deserves trust.
